Mash DIY Snacks was formed when Nutritionist, foodie and mum, Kate Walker saw that there was a desperate need for healthy, nutritionally dense snacks for toddlers, pre-schoolers and school age children. Then adults loved them too! 
While home baking can be fun with the kids, it's often quite time consuming when they are helping, messy and not necessarily the healthiest. Kate wanted a product that hit all her requirements: So the concept of an easy snack mix that

  • You don't need to bake
  • Can make in minutes for the kids to eat
  • Freezes well
  • Still lets children have fun in the kitchen and develop hand/ eye coordination and learning, but won't make a mess (much better than just stirring the ingredients in a bowl). They can make their own creations or balls! 
  • Is nutritionally dense with healthy fats, protein, magnesium and fiber, made from seeds such as chia seeds, linseed, pumpkin and sunflower seeds. Combined with organic coconut. 
  • Is nut free so safe for Daycares or Playcenters/ Kindergarten/ Montessori
  • No added sugar, or dried fruit so very low sugar, and wont get stuck in little teeth. 
  • Uses up the over ripe banana in the fruit bowl! Yes all you need is a banana to bind and sweeten! But if you don't like banana that's ok, you can also use peanut butter and honey or apple puree or yoghurt
  • You can make your own bliss balls or raw slices in minutes. Or bake them into cookies. So much fun and creations to be made!
